Girls' Generation, SM Exclusive Contract Expires, "Many members haven't renewed their contracts"

Seoul, South Korea (Reauters) the South Korea's Girls Generation celebrated it's 10th anniversary this month of August with a re-signing ceremony that ended with an exclusive deal with SM Entertainment.

On August 05, 2007, Girl's Generation, who made her debut as the first single 'Back to the World', was called a full - fledged girl group by gathering SM's planning power leading to casting, training, producing and management.

They have a lot of hits such as 'Gee', 'Tell Me Wish', 'Oh!' and 'I Got A Boy'.' He has been active as a representative group of K-Pop in overseas stage.


In the first 'YouTube Music Awards' held in 2003, 'Asiana Boy' was the only Asian singer to awarded 'Music Video of the Year'. So far, 6 music videos on YouTube have exceeded 100 million of views. Last month, Billboard was voted number one in the top 10 K-Pop girls group.

In spite of the dissolution of second generation girls group such as Two Ani Won, Wonder Girls, Four Minute, and Se Suta, they announced their last 6th 'Holiday Night' celebration on the 4th 10th Anniversary.

According to the music industry on the 16th, eight members of the Girls' Generation are currently discussing the renewal of their contract with SM, which is scheduled to expire. Many members haven't renewed their contracts, and the rest of the members are also discussing positively.

A member of an Aide said, "Some of the members are still talking to the company." I do not know what variables will be there yet, but I think members will continue their activities as they feel proud that they have been in good condition for 10 years."
