Paul Ryan breaks with Donald Trump on Arpaio pardon

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisck.) disagrees with President Trump's decision on pardon former Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the wall street journal reported sunday.

The White House announce on Friday the president would pardon Arpaio, who had been found guilty of racially profiling.

Arpaio was scheduled to be sentenced in October.

Trump's decision to spare Arpaio, has stirred controversy on bot sides of the Political aisle.

The ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee Sen. Dianne Feinstein said on Saturday the pardon demonstrate Flagrant disregard for the rule of law in this country.

Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) also ripped the decision, however he did concede the president had the authority to make the decision.

Apaio, 85, was an outspoken supporter of Trump's presidential campaign and both men have argued for tougher policies against illegal immigration.

As president, Trump has broad powers to issue pardons and he had said Arpaio was convicted "Doing his job".

Arpaio lost his own bid for re-election in Arizona's Maricopa Country in November, after 24-years in office.
